Pennine Housing 2000 and ReACT

Pennine Housing is Calderdale's largest registered social landlord, with over 11,500 properties across the area and another 1,500 in Sheffield. They serve a diverse community, with a mix of rented, shared ownership and sheltered housing available for people to choose from.

Pennine is committed to changing these communities for the better, from a rolling investment program for their properties, to supporting people into work. Tackling anti-social behaviour is a key part of their vision, with an anti-social behaviour hotline, support for victims and use of the case management system; ReACT.

As Geoff Killerby, the ASB Team Manager explains:

“When we first looked into managing anti-social behaviour, there was only one system at the time that had been created for landlords rather than the police. ReACT was – and is - designed by people with a housing background, for housing organisations. As a result, the system quickly integrated with our policies and procedures.”

ReACT is now one of the key tools used by Pennine to successfully prosecute community offenders.

“ReACT has saved us a great deal of time in tracking and monitoring nuisance cases. We are seeing the amount of offences go down, as the system helps us to identify and tackle persistent trouble-makers at an earlier stage. Just as important has been the staff response; they enjoy using ReACT and find the training and support offered by EBS invaluable. “

ReACT’s support has always been coupled with a constant drive to improve the product in a sector where change is particularly fierce. Coming from an innovative background himself, Geoff has been impressed with the ReACT team’s performance over the past few years.
