Better Reporting

Christian Action Housing Association & ReACT by David Woodcock, ASB Officer

Christian Action"Cases now appear in a concise, easy to follow and modern appearance; a professional product containing excellent information and audit trail. Not only is it an excellent investigative tool, ReACT is also a good supervisory tool. Supervisors are able to view each case and assess if there may be flaws or problems in the investigation to date..."

What problems were you experiencing pre-purchase?

“Prior to purchasing ReACT, all of our ASB investigations were kept in paper hanging files. This was extremely time consuming, wasted paper and took up a lot of space. There were also problems with the case management of the files as some often ‘went missing’. Meetings were held at regular intervals to discuss investigations. This was seen as valuable time being wasted.”

Why did you choose ReACT?

“We chose ReACT after looking around online, speaking with other users of the system and seeing a demo of the product in action. The training and support offered allayed any doubts we possessed about purchasing it, with every question answered.”

What difference has ReACT made to your organization?

Since the introduction of ReACT I have found investigations are easier to conduct. It has streamlined our investigative procedure, with all aspects of each case recorded in date and time order, providing a contemporaneous record of the investigation process in each case. Documents and statements can be scanned in and added to the case. The configuration process was simple to follow and is entirely personal; any aspect can be added or deleted at any stage according to the user’s preferences. Reports are easy to access and print.

Cases now appear in a concise, easy to follow and modern appearance; a professional product containing excellent information and audit trail. Not only is it an excellent investigative tool, ReACT is also a good supervisory tool. Supervisors are able to view each case and assess if there may be flaws or problems in the investigation to date. The investigating officer can be contacted directly by e-mail, from within the system, to deal with anything the supervisor has identified. This has saved time as the previous case study meetings are no longer required, and freed up office storage space previously used for the paper files.

What would you say to others considering ReACT?

I would advise that the option to purchase be seriously considered by potential users as it really has made an improvement to our investigative process. The support received since purchase has been excellent and we have experienced no problems with the installation, maintenance and development of ReACT. We receive regular contact from the ReACT team, which is personal and friendly and have attended functions, arranged by the team, which have proved to be extremely useful.

Any other comments?

I come from a police background; I am a retired Detective Sergeant from the Metropolitan Police. My police investigative experience was centered around their Crime reporting system known as CRIS. ReACT is comparable to and in many areas superior to that system. ReACT allows more user options and is a complete investigative tool, where all of the investigative material may be stored. There are also more features with ReACT, such as Google maps, and the reports can be tailored to individual user requirements. Inter-agency involvement and details can be logged on the system.

All in all an excellent product with excellent support by a friendly and experienced team.
