Background

The REMOTE Reporting App is a companion app to REACT. REACT is a case management solution used within social housing to case manage community safety. When you download and use The REMOTE Reporting app you are accepting that some personal data is being collected and used for a specific purpose. If there are terms as explained or described in this statement that you do not agree with then you should cease using the app and remove it from your mobile device.

Please read this privacy statement carefully as it explains what is collected by The REMOTE Reporting App, how it is used and who has access to it.

 

What personal information does the app collect?

The app only collects the information that you provide it with. It does not collect, store or transmit information without your consent.

 

The data collected is, Name, address, telephone numbers, emails address, password, contact preferences, static location and answers to incident related questions.

 

Why do we collect this data? The data that the app collects is wholly controlled by you, the app user. The purpose of the app, is to allow you report incidents of antisocial behaviour to your housing provider, and is the only purpose of the app. The data requested has been defined by your housing provider to enable them to best manage your report and communicate with you.

 

Where is it stored? The data is stored on your device. When you instruct the app to send the data to your housing provider, it is transmitted directly to your housing providers antisocial behaviour case management software. This software and all associated data is held in the UK.

 

What is the information used for? The data sent to your housing provider is used solely by them to manage your incident report and communicate with you.

 

Who can access the information. Data collected and transmitted goes directly to your housing provider and into their antisocial behaviour case management software. We (the app provider and developer) to not have access to the data either on your device or within your housing providers software. We do not use your data for any purpose whatsoever other than passing it to your housing provider. This means nobody other than your housing provider has access to your data.

 

Cookies and tracking. The REMOTE Reporting app does not use cookies or any technologies for tracking you or your devices activities. Location sharing is an option as part of the reporting process, however this is an app users choice on a report by report basis. Further, a user may choose to report an incident anonymously to their housing provider. Under the anonymous option, the report will be delivered to your housing provider without any details as to its source. The app user should acknowledge that this type of report will prevent your housing provider contacting you and may prevent resolution or assistance when dealing with your reported incident.

Important information on keeping your information safe. It is our priority to keep your data safe. We do this by ensuring we adhere to both technology and organisational safety best practices. We have and will continue to implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorised third parties will not be able to circumvent security, and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our services is at your own risk.

 

Using our app is entirely optional and therefore should you have any safety concerns whatsoever, please refrain from using it and remove it from your mobile device.
